We’re delighted to debut our new gourmet food obsession: Falksalt gourmet salts for cooking and finishing!
The Mediterranean sea salts are harvested in Cyprus, and the company is run in Switzerland.
We’ve been using Falksalt sea salt flakes at our outdoor barbecues the last couple weeks.
Check out all the flavors we recommend:
Salt and Pepper is great for enhancing Bloody Marys, simple steaks, or on heirloom tomatoes drizzled with olive oil and a bit of balsamic vinegar.
Falksalt’s Natural crystal flakes can be used for all types of foods. It’s a nice general purpose option, when you don’t want another flavor to overpower your food.
Chipotle sea salt flakes might be a bit too spicy of a flavor for me, but some of you might want to finish off your tacos, add a hint to quesadillas, or pop into hamburgers for extra kick.
The black color of these salt flakes makes it impossible to use in say potato salad or with chicken and white pasta sauce. But I love the novelty and would use these on asparagus or pizza.
Smoke could be fabulous on pork or on grilled potatoes.
I’m tempted to put lots of the wild garlic sea salt flakes on grilled or roasted corn on the cob! You can also use them to make garlic bread, and with fried fish.
I’d also love to taste corn on the cob, or perhaps asparagus, with lime crystal sea salt flakes! I wonder if one could rim a margarita with this salt, too.
Falksalt recommends using their citron sea salt on salmon, in rice pilaf, or in specialty chocolate creations.
Our final gourmet sea salt we wanted to show you is their rosemary flavor. Stir it into pasta or lasagna, finish lamb chops with it, or add to garlic mashed potatoes.
